Welcome to my portfolio. I am glad you stopped by and I hope this year of 2021 will be good for you, and better than 2020!
I've been taking photos since childhood, starting with a Box Brownie till now where I enjoy capturing images with a Nikon D80. I am largely self-taught though I learned a lot from others as a member of several camera clubs in the Dallas, TX area during my linguistics study program in the late 1970's and later as a wedding photographer in Sydney, Australia in the early 1980's.
In the early 1970's I was privileged to learn how to develop and print my own images while on a 6-month assignment in PNG. Since that time I endeavoured to always have a darkroom set up. While I still have the equipment, I do not have a suitable place for one...
Now that I have retired from my role as a linguist and teacher, I have the time to focus on the creative artistry enabled by today's cameras and software. I mainly work with digital. However, I do not find digital pictures come close to the beauty of what can be produced in the darkroom. My digital work is created from photos I've taken using a variety of software which includes Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, On1, Photobacks, Dynamic Auto Painter, Topaz Labs Filters, etc.
